New Orleans Pelicans: Best duos in the Western Conference #4-6

#4: Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson

Ok, this one is theoretical, as we have not yet seen Thompson return from the injury that kept him out all of last season, but if he is healthy, these two could make a case for the top three.

Curry is last year’s scoring champion and is still playing at an MVP level, and Thompson (when healthy) is a historically good shooter who also defends his position well.

I don’t think it’s a crazy prediction to say that the Warriors will be back in contention this season behind the Splash Brothers.

#5: Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert

This might seem a little high for some people but the results speak for themselves, as Utah was the top regular season team in the conference last season.

They haven’t had the playoff success yet but you can’t argue with this duo, as Mitchell is great on both ends and Gobert is one of the best defensive players in the NBA.

We’ll see if that translates into a longer run in the playoffs next season.

#6: Chris Paul and Devin Booker

Chris Paul turned the Suns from a nice bubble story into NBA Finalists last season and even though he is getting up there in age, he is still one of the best point guards in the NBA on both ends.

Booker improved defensively and continues to be one of the best scorers in the NBA. I could see these two taking a step back this season as a duo, but for now it’s hard to argue them any lower than this.
