New Orleans Pelicans: 3 Pels who could be traded next season
The New Orleans Pelicans will have a much different roster to start next season and there could be even more changes before it is over.
The Pels have jettisoned three starters in Lonzo Ball, Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe, replacing them with Devonte’ Graham and Jonas Valanciunas who they hope are better fits with Zion Williamson.
The Pels are hoping Graham replaces Lonzo’s shooting and adds some better play in the clutch, while Valanciunas should provide better spacing around Zion.
But these are just theoretical improvements, as the Pelicans still have a very young roster and there is debate about whether they have actually improved.
If things start going south and it looks like the New Orleans Pelicans will not make the playoffs, I expect they will either try to make a big trade for a star or move some of their veterans to clear cap space.
I don’t think any of these players are necessarily likely to be traded, but they would offer the best return and their names will be involved in rumors if the season doesn’t go to plan.
New Orleans Pelicans: Josh Hart would be easy to trade
The New Orleans Pelicans just re-signed Josh Hart, so they are obviously not going to trade him unless things aren’t working out.
Hart signed a 3-year deal but the best part about his contract is that only the first year is fully guaranteed, meaning he would be very easy to trade.
Hart is a productive veteran on a value contract, so if the Pelicans aren’t playing well at the trade deadline, we will hear his name in rumors, as there are a lot of teams that could use his services.
