New Orleans Pelicans: 3 most underrated players in franchise history
New Orleans Pelicans most underrated players: Ryan Anderson
Like I said, this list is in no particular order and you could probably make an argument for many different players, including Ryan Anderson.
Anderson was another sharpshooter who played parts of four seasons with the Pelicans between 2012-2016. He did miss most of 2013-14 with a serious neck injury that derailed his career, but he was still able to go on to become a very effective role player and one of the Pelicans best shooters.
Anderson was averaging nearly 20 per game with 6.5 rebounds before his injury, but in his best full season he notched 17 points and six rebounds while shooting nearly 43 percent from 3-point range.
He’s another player that I would love to be able to plug into the Pelicans starting lineup now, as his shooting would look great with Zion Williamson.
Anderson is 5th on the Pelicans’ all-time scoring list, though it is likely that Brandon Ingram will surpass him sometime next season.
The teams Anderson were on were never very good and he is now probably remembered for the ridiculous contract he got from Houston, but Ryan Anderson had some solid seasons for the Pelicans.
