New Orleans Pelicans most underrated players: Tyreke Evans

Tyreke Evans is another guy who I think is a bit underrated because he played in an era Pels fans would rather forget.

In his 3+ seasons with the Pels, Evans teams were never very good, and Evans had an up and down time himself, missing most of the 2015-16 season with injury.

At his best, Evans was pretty much impossible to keep from getting into the lane, and he knew his how to finish when he got there.

In his best season with the Pelicans he averaged 16.6 points, 6.6 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

He was a bully with the basketball and would use his strength to get into the paint and make unbelievable shots.

Seriously, go watch some of his highlights, because Evans was an absolute bucket at times and really fun to watch. He also dribbled too much and took a lot of bad shots but that’s for a different article.

Evans ended 9th on the Pelicans’ all-time scoring list, 7th in steals and 3rd in assists but he is probably more remembered now for being part of the Boogie Cousins trade.

The New Orleans Pelicans don’t have the longest history but they have had some fun teams and good players over the years who weren’t named Anthony Davis, Chris Paul or Zion Williamson.
