New Orleans Pelicans: Has anything changed?

The New Orleans Pelicans have talked a lot about a change in culture, with new head coach Willie Green outlining his philosophies and non-negotiable rules in a recent interview.

This starts with effort on the defensive end, something that coach Green has been preaching, but tonight we’ll see if it will translate to the court.

With so many young players fighting for minutes, the intensity level should be there right away, but I am also curious to see what type of leadership role Naji Marshall takes on that end and whether veteran Josh Hart can play a bigger role.

The Pelicans have some exciting young defenders in Murphy III, Marshall, Herb Jones and Didi Louzada and I am excited to see them get after it on that end, get out and run and try to create easy shots in transition as they did in Summer League.

It is only a preseason game, but we will get an idea if the attitude and culture in New Orleans has changed from last season, when the defensive effort was not always there.
