New Orleans Pelicans: Optimistic predictions for the stars

Jonas Valanciunas: Valanciunas will lead the team in rebounding for the season and improve their overall intensity on defense. He will re-sign with the New Orleans Pelicans after proving to be a great fit with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.

Related Story. New questions that came out of preseason. light

Nickeil Alexander-Walker: NAW will average 18+ points per game as a starter and win the Most Improved Player award.

Brandon Ingram: Brandon Ingram will make the All-NBA team after carrying the team early in the season and averaging 25 points, six rebounds and five assists for the year.

Zion Williamson: Zion will miss 25 percent of the season but come back healthy and in shape. He will lead the NBA in scoring and carry the Pelicans to the first playoff appearance of his career. I’d settle for the “being in shape” part to be honest.

So obviously not all of these things are going to happen, but sometimes teams respond favorably to challenges, which is what I am hoping will happen with the New Orleans Pelicans.

My most optimistic prediction for the team is that they stay afloat and build confidence with Zion Williamson out and that they go on a huge run when he returns.

It’s easy to be negative about this team right now, but hopefully the Pelicans will surprise some people and get off to a hot start with their star on the bench.
