Another week is in the books for the New Orleans Pelicans. Let’s take a look at some of the players who shined through the haze.

The second week of the 2021-22 NBA season is in the books. A 0-3 record has fans hanging their heads a little bit. As of Tuesday morning, the New Orleans Pelicans are tied with Detroit, Houston, and Oklahoma City for the fewest wins in the league. This is not the company New Orleans expected to keep going into the season.

As distressing as the record may be, fans are more than a little disgruntled on the Zion Williamson front. The star forward will miss another 2-3 weeks as his foot heals. The wake created by the combination of the record and Zion is creating waves that could capsize this whole season.

It’s not all doom and gloom though. This roster has really bought in to head coach Willie Green’s vision. Pels teams of the past would be expected to roll over when getting behind in games but not anymore. This team fights all game and managed to keep every game close this week, despite everyone on the roster having more responsibility forced onto them.

Fans may be disappointed in the outcome of the games but you’ve got to give these guys credit for never giving up and still caring about the little things in a season that’s gotten off to about as bad a start as possible. With that being said let’s hand out some silverware.

Here is the MVP of the week for the New Orleans Pelicans as well as the Young Player of the Week. The Pels might not have won a game last week but there were some positive signs.
