New Orleans Pelicans: Nickeil Alexander-Walker

Worry Level: Moderate

Count me as one of the people who thought this would be the season NAW put it all together and became a star.

So far the breakout season has not happened, even though he is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, rebounds and assists.

The problem is that NAW is shooting at a career-low rate, still hitting less than 30 percent from long range even though he jacks more than seven of them per game.

He will have a game where he looks great, then back it up with one where he disappears or can’t make a shot.

I think the pressure of being a top scoring option might have gotten to him a bit, but I still think he’s going to be a good player in this league.

The disappointing thing is that the effort has not been consistent, nor has anything else, which is why he got sent to the bench against Minnesota.

Alexander-Walker is 23-years-old, just one year younger than Brandon Ingram, so it’s time for him to show that he can play consistently from night to night.
