Can the New Orleans Pelicans do it again vs. Jazz? Odds and best bets
The New Orleans Pelicans have won two-in-a-row after Devonte’ Graham’s heroics last night against the Utah Jazz.
Graham hit the buzzer-beating three-pointer to give the Pels a one-point win in another exciting installment of their rivalry with Utah.
The Pelicans and Jazz have played a lot of close games in recent years and the late November back-to-back is always a good time to evaluate where the Pelicans are as a team.
Yesterday the Pelicans got good news about Zion Williamson, and that, coupled with their big win, is giving fans some hope of salvaging their season. Can they keep it going tonight in the second game against Utah?
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Jazz: Odds, spread and over/under
According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are 13 point underdogs on the road vs. Utah. They were just 12 point dogs last night, so I am not sure what changed after their win.
The money lines are set at +650 for the Pels and -1000 for the Jazz. I saw a few Pels’ fans claiming they’d put New Orleans into big parlays last night, so being a homer finally paid off! I would take the points again in this one, as these two teams have a history of close games in Utah.
The over/under is 216.5 which seems insanely high considering both teams are on the second game of a back-to-back and scored fewer than 200 combined last night. I’d hammer the under here once again.
The books are basically saying that they think the Utah Jazz are going to blow the Pelicans out after losing a heartbreaker last night and I can understand that sentiment. It would be easy for the Pels to have a big letdown after their win, but I also think they can ride that momentum, so I expect them to come out fighting.
I’d take the points and the under in the rematch.
Predictions and daily fantasy tips
The Pels scored fewer than 100 points again last night, so no one had a particularly huge game.
Brandon Ingram’s rebounding and assist numbers have made up for his lack of scoring in recent games, and he always seems to have big games against Utah.
I’d stay away from Jonas Valanciunas again tonight, though he did have a double-double with a block against Gobert last night. He missed all three of his 3-point attempts, and if he had made those his numbers would have been strong, but it’s tough to recommend anyone going up against Gobert.
If you are looking for a low-cost play, look to Willie Hernangomez, who has been really good lately and put up 13/8/5 off the bench last night. Jaxson Hayes may never play again if this keeps up.
