The New Orleans Pelicans have two ways to respond to the news that Zion Williamson has suffered another setback and is out indefinitely.

They can either hang their heads and pack it in for the season or they can try to rally around their fallen star tonight in San Antonio.

I think the Pels will do the latter and still have a chance to sneak into the play-in if they make a small trade before the deadline.

Even if they don’t, I don’t think the Pelicans will give up under coach Willie Green, who deserves some credit for holding it together this well given the circumstances.

The Pelicans are coming off a win over the Pistons and the Spurs a loss to the Nuggets, so the Pels will look to leapfrog the Spurs in the standings with a road win tonight.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs: Odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are 2.5 point underdogs on the road vs. the Spurs. Usually when the road team is getting fewer than three points, the books think there is a good chance they will win.

The money lines are -135 for the Spurs and +115 for the Pelicans. I like these odds for the Pels and would take them to win on the road against a mediocre San Antonio squad.

The over/under is 219 which seems absurdly high considering the two only average around 214 points per game between them.

I would take the Pelicans to win and hammer the under, which worked well in the last game against Detroit.

Pelicans vs. Spurs: Best daily fantasy

Brandon Ingram has been amazing lately, averaging 27/5.5/5.5 over his last six games and playing much-better overall defense.

Ingram is on track to make All-NBA this season and should if the Pelicans can make any kind of noise in the Western Conference. I see no one on this Spurs’ team that can slow BI, so bet the house on him in daily fantasy because he’s about to go off.

I’d avoid the Pelicans’ guards, who are going to have their hands full with the Spurs backcourt, but Jonas Valanciunas could have a big game against Jakob Poeltl. JV has had some monster games against the Spurs in the past and should do so again tonight.

How to watch

The game against the Spurs will tip off at 6:00 PM CT and you can watch on Bally Sports New Orleans or listen on ESPN 100.3 FM.
