New Orleans Pelicans vs. 76ers: Can Pels keep it going? Odds and bets
The New Orleans Pelicans have won two in a row and are starting to click even without star Zion Williamson.
It looks like Zion might not be back at all this season, but the Pelicans are finding ways to win behind Brandon Ingram who has been playing like an MVP candidate lately.
The Pels are 9-9 since he returned from injury and are suddenly just 2.5 games out of the final play-in spot, which now seems like a realistic goal.
The 76ers are heading the other direction, losers of three in a row and they have dropped all the way to 9th in the Eastern Conference, not exactly what they were hoping for coming into this season.
With Ben Simmons still holding out for personal reasons, the 76ers have struggled at times and hopefully this will be a good time for the Pels to catch them.
Here are the odds and your best fantasy bets.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Odds, spread, over/under
According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are 6.5 point underdogs on the road against Philly, which is surprisingly high given how these two teams have been playing.
The money lines are +200 for the Pelicans and -240 for the 76ers, who smashed the Pelicans in their last meeting, which was the first game of the season.
In that game the 76ers had four players score at least 20 points, but that was before Herb Jones moved to the starting lineup and the Pelicans have been slightly better defensively since then.
The over/under is 214, which is exactly the combined score from the last game that the 76ers won.
This is a tough one to call, as I like the Pels’ momentum, but Jonas Valanciunas struggled mightily in the last meeting and they will need him to play better against Joel Embiid this time around.
The Pelicans have played two thrillers in a row, so I like them to keep it close, so would take the points in this one along with the over, as the Pels are likely to score more than 97 points this time around.
Pelicans vs. 76ers: Best daily fantasy bets
Jonas Valanciunas had his worst game of the season agains Philly, so he’s a stay way for me in this one against Embiid.
Brandon Ingram is always a solid play and he had big numbers the last time these two met. The 76ers don’t have anyone who can handle BI one-on-one with Simmons out, so expect him to have another big night.
My favorite low-cost bet right now is on Josh Hart, as he has been averaging a double/double with 4.5 assists over his last three games, and grabbed another 15 boards against the Bucks in the last win.
Stay away from literally every player on the Pelicans’ bench, as they have been awful all season and even worse lately. Devonte’ Graham has had a hot hand and might be worth taking a flyer on tonight.
