Can Pelicans keep home vibes going vs. Clippers? Odds and bets
The New Orleans Pelicans are still buzzing after their last-second win over the Minnesota Timberwolves and will try to keep those home vibes going tonight against the Clippers.
The Pels have been rolling at home, compiling a 6-2 record since the middle of December and starting to build a home court advantage.
They have won twice against the Clippers already this season and four in a row going back to last season. Both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are out with injury and LA could be missing several other players in health and safety protocols.
That doesn’t mean things will be easy for the Pelicans, but this is a game they should win, and they need to if they want to keep pace in the race for the play-in tournament in the Western Conference.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Los Angeles Clippers: Odds, spread, over/under
According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are three point favorites tonight at home vs. the Clippers.
The money lines are -150 for the Pelicans and +125 for the Clippers, so the books are still skeptical that what we are seeing from the Pelicans is real and aren’t quite ready to make them a heavy favorite even though the Clippers are shorthanded.
The over/under is 215 combined points which seems a bit high considering these two teams only average around 210 combined for the season. However, they do allow 215 combined points.
I think the Pelicans are a great bet in this one, and that Brandon Ingram could go off with both Leonard and George out with injury, so if you are looking for a solid daily fantasy bet, take Ingram all day, as he’s been great lately and should keep rolling tonight.
Josh Hart has also been filling the stat sheet and is a strong play against the depleted Clippers. Look for him to have a big night on the boards with Eric Bledsoe defending.
It’s possible this could be a rare blow out for the Pelicans, which makes me nervous, as they tend to play better this season when their backs are against the wall. Nevertheless, I’d take the Pels to win this one and cover the spread and take the over with Clippers missing their two best defenders.
