You have to hand it to the New Orleans Pelicans: They’ve been decimated by injuries this season but continue to play hard in every game.

Unfortunately, wins are what matter and they’ve been hard to come by with Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas all out with injuries.

Just when it looked like the Pels were getting something going, both Ingram and Valanciunas have had to miss time with injuries and even though the role players are stepping up, the Pelicans just don’t have the talent to overcome these absences.

New Orleans battled back and kept it respectable against the Denver, with six players scoring in double figures, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Jokic and the Nuggets.

The Pelicans will have a similar task tonight against the Celtics, a team they recently blew an 18-point lead to on the road.

Can New Orleans bounce back and get a much-needed win at home?

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Boston Celtics: Odds, spread, over/under and best bets

According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are 5.5 point underdogs at home against the Celtics.

As of the writing of this, neither Boston nor New Orleans have submitted their injury report, so we don’t know if Ingram and Valanciunas will be back, but I wouldn’t expect it.

If they were to both come back, then I like the Pelicans to win this one at home, where they’ve been much better, but if not, expect another feisty loss and take the points.

The money lines are set at +180 for the Pelicans and -220 for the Celtics and the combined over/under is 213.5, which seems strangely high.

The Pelicans didn’t even crack 100 points the last time these two teams played and the Celtics stink on the road, so I’d bet the under on this one.

If Ingram and Valanciunas are out, the best daily fantasy plays for the Pels will be Josh Hart, who continues to stack stats game after game, and Nickel Alexander-Walker, who is the beneficiary of more shots, though he still isn’t making them efficiently.
