The New Orleans Pelicans will take on the Denver Nuggets tonight on the road in a game they would love to win as they try to make a run at the play-in tournament.

The Pels are coming off a nice comeback win over the Pistons that I think could be a turning point in their season, as they are entering a softer part of their schedule that includes a six-game home stand.

The Pelicans are still missing Zion Williamson, but Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas will both be playing tonight vs. the Nuggets, who beat New Orleans on January 29th with both of those guys out of the lineup.

The Nuggets have lost two in a row and are still missing Jamal Murry and Michael Porter Jr. to go along with newly-acquired DeMarcus Cousins.

The Nuggets are 13-9 at home and the Pelicans have been bad on the road, so this is one that will be tough for New Orleans.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Denver Nuggets: Odds, spread, over/under and best bets

According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are six point underdogs on the road vs. Denver.

I’ve said this before, but it does feel like New Orleans is figuring some things out, and their role players played very well in the absence of two starters, keeping the Pels close in every game.

The Pels lost by 11 the last time vs. Denver without two starters, so I like them to keep it much closer this time with Brandon Ingram back and playing with a chip on his shoulder after getting snubbed for the All-Star game.

The money lines are set at -240 for the Nuggets and +195 for the Pelicans, so if you think New Orleans can win this one, just bet them to do so, as you will get better odds and six points isn’t much anyway.

The over/under is set at 222.5, which seems really high to me given the way the Pels have been shooting the ball. There has been recent value in the under and I would suggest taking it again.

Taking the points with the under has been my pet bet lately and I would stick with it in this one.

Josh Hart is questionable for this game, which could take out the Pels’ best value in daily fantasy, as he has been consistently putting up double-doubles and can still be had for relatively cheap on most sites.

Brandon Ingram had a big game in his return and will look to build on it, so he is your best high-end play.

My favorite value play of late has been Jose Alvarado, who has quietly put up nice numbers off the bench in both assists and steals to go along with double-digit points.
