5 questions for the New Orleans Pelicans to answer in final 23 games

#5: Will Zion Williamson speak up?

The Zion Williamson rumors are swirling once again after the news that he had failed to call new teammate CJ McCollum.

While I think FAR too much is being made of it, this lack of communication is part of a disturbing pattern for a guy who has been out all season with injury and spent most of it away from his teammates.

I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, and I am certain Zion’s teammates would paint a very different picture than the one being painted by the national media, but the truth is that until he speaks up, this is never going to end.

I’ve given up on the idea of Zion Williamson playing this season, but I would like to hear from him at some point before it’s over.

He can end a lot of these rumors and speculation by simply being honest, re-affirming his commitment to the team and assuring fans he has a stake in its future.

I have defended Zion all season and I think a lot of the criticism has been ridiculous, but part of being the face of a franchise is speaking to the media and he and his camp have failed spectacularly in that department.

The team has given him a lot of room to do his own thing, but something has to change, as it is unfair to fans and season ticket holders to withhold information about the face of the franchise for this long.
