The New Orleans Pelicans play the Los Angeles Lakers tonight in one of the biggest games of the season.

The Pels are trying to gain ground in the play-in standings, as they are currently just a game behind the Trail Blazers for the 10th spot and 3.5 games behind the Lakers for the 9th.

The Lakers have won just three of their last 10 games and will be without Anthony Davis for the foreseeable future, so this is good time to catch them.

New Orleans would love nothing more than to chase down the Lakers, grab a play-in spot and try to make some noise behind Brandon Ingram and the newly acquired CJ McCollum, who has been on an absolute tear since joining New Orleans at the deadline.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Odds, spread, over/under and best bets

According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are two point underdogs on the road vs. the Lakers. Considering the home team usually gets a few points by default, the books see this one as pretty much even.

The money lines are +105 for New Orleans and -125 for the Lakers, and the over/under is set at a combined 225.5 points.

I like the Pels’ chances with Anthony Davis out, and would take them to win outright against the slumping Lakers. I also think the over/under is a tad too high, as these two teams only average around 216 points between them, so the under looks good in this one.

CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram combined for 60 points in the win over the Suns, so they are your best daily fantasy bets. McCollum is averaging just under 30 points per game since joining the Pels, so I’d keep him in your lineup.

Jaxson Hayes has been quiet lately but could present some matchup problems for the Lakers and Tony Snell looks to be earning Willie Green’s trust, so could be a low-cost flyer after putting up solid numbers against the Suns.
