Pelicans stock market: Who is trending heading into March?
New Orleans Pelicans stock market: March 2022
The bench
Jose Alvarado-Holding steady
When Hayes was moved to the starting lineup, I thought Alvardo might lose his minutes, as it is tough to play him and Devonte’ Graham at the same time. But so far it has worked in spurts and Alvarado is still finding ways to contribute off the bench.
Naji Marshall-Trending up
It appears Marshall is earning back Willie Green’s trust, as he’s been playing more minutes lately and has been able to make an impact defensively. He wasn’t playing at all before, so any minutes are a positive. I like Marshall’s energy but his shooting has been poor this season. If he can turn that around, he will continue to get more minutes as the season winds down.
Tony Snell-Trending up
Snell is providing the Pelicans with a nice boost of 3-point shooting off the bench and has also played decently on the defensive end. He gives the Pels length and shooting that they didn’t have before and has so far been an underrated part of the McCollum trade. When Larry Nance Jr. gets back, New Orleans should have a deep and versatile bench.
Devonte’ Graham-Holding steady
It’s too early to tell if the move to the bench has done much for Graham, though he has scored in double digits in his last three games. He’s only averaging 7.9 points per game over his last 10, but there are signs things are starting to click.
