If you were to rank the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season, the New Orleans Pelicans and Atlanta Hawks would probably make the list.

Both teams find themselves clinging to the 10 seed in their respective conferences after entering the season with dreams of deep playoff runs.

The Hawks have regressed after making the Eastern Conference Finals last season, and the Pelicans have been without Zion Williamson all season and Brandon Ingram for a big chunk of it, including today’s game.

But the Pelicans might finally catch some injury luck, as John Collins is already out with an injury and star guard Trae Young is listed as questionable.

The Pels are coming of a strong team win over the San Antonio Spurs and will try to keep treading water as they wait for their star to return to the lineup.

Can they get another shorthanded road win?

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Atlanta Hawks: Odds, spread, over/under and best bets

According to WynnBET, the Pelicans are 3.5 point underdogs on the road today in Atlanta.

Given that the home team is usually spotted around three points, the books pretty much see this one as even.

The money lines are set at +140 for the Pelicans and -170 for the Hawks, and just like last game against the Spurs, I like the Pels to win this one outright and would take the better odds of the money line.

The over/under is set at 231.5, which seems really high considering these two teams score and allow around 222 points per game on the season.

I like New Orleans to win with the under and tie the Lakers for the 9th seed in the Western Conference.

As for daily fantasy bets, CJ McCollum and Jonas Valanciunas continue to be the bedrock of the Pelicans in fantasy, but there is a low-cost play I like a lot more.

Jaxson Hayes has scored in double digits in his last four games, has really been filling the stat sheet and has favorable matchups today against the Hawks. I love him to have a big game and am making him my low-cost lock of the day.
