New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs: The guards

The San Antonio Spurs have a young and talented guard group that has given the Pelicans some trouble this season. Here are the four guys we are likely to see:

  • Dejounte Murray
  • Joshua Primo
  • Tre Jones
  • Lonnie Walker IV

The Pelicans will run out a group of guards that includes:

  • CJ McCollum
  • Devonte’ Graham
  • Jose Alvrado

Even though the Pelicans have arguably the best player of the group in McCollum, the Spurs have the deeper group and Murray has torched the Pels in the past. Stopping him will be their priority, as the Spurs pretty much go as Dejounte goes.

If the Pels can keep him from getting into the lane, they have a good chance of getting the “W,” so we might see more of rookie Jose Alvarado over Devonte’ Graham for defensive purposes.

Advantage: Spurs
