Brandon Ingram has taken his game to another level in the playoffs and has given the Pelicans a chance to pull off the unlikely upset. The series is far from over, and a game 6 win tonight would send it back to Phoenix for a do-or-die game with the number one seed in the Western Conference. No one expected the Pelicans to be here, and the main reason they are is because of Ingram, who is one of the most underrated players in the league. He’s gotten a little more attention for the way he has elevated his game in the playoffs, and he has a chance to put himself near the top of the list for Pelicans’ all-time playoff performances in a series.

Brandon Ingram climbing list of all-time Pelicans’ playoff performances

The New Orleans Pelicans don’t have a rich playoff history but they have had some huge playoff performances, including the one Ingram is putting on now. BI is averaging 28.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists in the first-round series with the Suns while shooting 48 percent overall and 42 percent from long range. He’s had three steals and two blocks in the five games so far and will to add more to those numbers tonight and hopefully in a game 7. If the Pelicans were to pull the upset and be the first nine-seed to ever make the second round, Ingram could be considered for the top spot on this list, but until then two other playoff performances have him beaten. Chris Paul Chris Paul was magical in 2008, leading the then Hornets to the second round of the playoffs. His best series was in the round 1 win over Dallas, in which he averaged 24.6 points, 12 assists and 5.6 rebounds in the five games. Paul shot 50 percent overall and had 10 steals in the series. It’s crazy to think that he was just 22-years-old at the time. Anthony Davis New Orleans’ least favorite player did have an amazing playoff run in 2018, sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers before eventually falling to the juggernaut Golden State Warriors. In the Portland series Davis averaged 33 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 57.6 percent. He added 11 blocks and seven steals and had 47 points in the clincher. Brandon Ingram is not done yet, and if he can will his team to playoff series win as Paul and Davis did, his name will be in the conversation for all-time Pelicans’ playoff performances.
