New Orleans Pelicans: 5 players most likely to be traded

#4: Garrett Temple

Temple was terrible for the New Orleans Pelicans on the court this season, though he did provide some veteran leadership off it.

But $5.1 million is a pretty steep price to pay for “leadership” from a guy who is washed, so the Pels would love to get off this money and replace Temple with a veteran who can still play.

The only way the Temple contract is moved is if it is part of a bigger deal and they need his salary to match, as no team is going to be calling about him, which means it’s likely that Temple is still on the New Orleans Pelicans roster next season.

#3: Larry Nance Jr.

The Pels love what Nance Jr. brings to the table, as he gives them a versatile defender who can cover Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson or play center and allow the Pelicans to go small.

But Nance Jr.’s salary would probably be necessary if the Pelicans wanted to make an impact trade, as he is making $9.6 million, which could be paired with another contract and a pick to potentially pick up a quality player in a trade.

Barring a trade, Nance Jr. will be back, but his salary and injury history definitely make him expendable in the right trade.
