Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans has been a lot more visible in recent days.

He’s been popping up in workout videos with his teammates, getting spotted playing pickup with kids, and most recently, looking like the incredible Hulk in the new ad for his signature Jumpman shoes.

CJ McCollum challenged Zion to be more open and available with the media this offseason and so far he has, though always on his own terms.

So far Zion’s signature shoes have been hit or miss in my opinion. I did buy a pair and love the way they feel, but some fans were put off by the splashy color way, and opinions were very mixed, especially on the graffiti editions.

I wasn’t overly impressed with the Zion 2’s (at least the ones currently available in stores) but Zion Williamson revealed today that there is a special edition that will be coming out soon that looks a lot more interesting.

Zion dropped pictures of the new “Voodoo” editions on all of his social media platforms and the shoes are once again causing a buzz:

I again was not overly impressed with the Zion 2’s though the colors are a lot more interesting than the originals.

I think the real potential star here are the AJ1 lows, which have the same color way without all of the extra straps and nonsense on the high top versions.

Here you can see Zion Williamson unboxing both versions and saying that they were “dedicated to the city of New Orleans.” I am not sure how much more this guy has to do to prove that he wants to be in New Orleans.

Fans were mostly in agreement that those low tops are nice, and I went from “I’m not buying these” to very intrigued immediately. The low tops are sure to sell out quickly, so fans should keep an eye out for their release.

Zion Williamson is having a much-better offseason this year, which will hopefully end in a big contract extension and 100 percent health for the big man.
