New Orleans Pelicans small-ball lineups: The youth brigade

The Pelicans are going to have a deep bench and will be able to bring in a number of young players who are hungry, ready to defend and run the floor.

Ingram is the old man of this particular group that would have to have one of the longest collective wing spans in the NBA:

  • Dyson Daniels
  • Herb Jones
  • Trey Murphy III
  • Brandon Ingram
  • Zion Williamson

This group might have some issues with spacing, though Murphy III does provide some help in that area.

But I love the defensive versatility as the top four guys are virtually interchangeable and would cause some serious headaches for opposing offenses on the perimeter. This group isn’t big enough to run in long bursts, but could be the type of lineup coach Green uses to create mismatches or exploit another team’s lack of size.

When you factor in Jose Alvarado, Jaxson Hayes, EJ Liddell and Naji Marshall, the Pelicans might have one of the deepest rosters in the league and are going to have a ton of ways to create mismatches and havoc next season.
