How many years before Brandon Ingram is the New Orleans Pelicans’ franchise leader?

When it comes to rebounds and assists, Ingram has his work cut out for him, as the franchise leaders are two future Hall-of-Famers who thrive in those categories.

Rebounds

Leader: Anthony Davis (4,906)

Brandon Ingram: 999

Ingram has averaged 333 rebounds per season in his three years with the Pelicans, peaking at 6.1 per season in his first year with the team.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable that he will keep up that pace or even surpass it, but even if he does, it would take him over 11 more seasons to surpass AD as the all-time rebounder.

I don’t know if Ingram will get there, as it would take a few seasons where he averaged closer to 10 a game to get it done, but he could possibly catch David West (3853), PJ Brown (2675) or Tyson Chandler (2,225) and end up close to the top of the list.

Assists

Leader: Chris Paul (4,228)

Brandon Ingram: 862

At his current pace, it would again take Ingram more than 11 seasons to overtake Chris Paul as the franchise leader in assists. I do think we’ll see BI continue to grow and improve as a playmaker, but we are talking about one of the greatest point guards of all time in CP3, a guy who put up some monster assist number with New Orleans and since.

But I think there is a possibility that Ingram could surpass his averages so far in assists and even put up a few seasons of 8+ per game. If he does that, and can stay healthy, he’d have a chance to beat out Paul but it’s far more likely he ends up as number two or three, just ahead or behind Jrue Holiday.
