The New Orleans Pelicans are hoping to get a fully healthy and determined Zion Williamson back next season and the NBA had better be ready.
Zion finally looks to be over his foot injury and has been working with a personal chef to stay in top condition heading into the season.
Staying on the floor has obviously been the problem, but there is no doubt that Zion is a game changer when he is in there, which didn’t go unnoticed by NBA2K23, who gave Williamson high marks in their new ratings.
New Orleans Pelicans: What is Zion Williamson’s rating in NBA2K23?
The release of the NBA2K ratings is now a yearly tradition for NBA fans, who love to argue about who got dissed and which of their favorite players didn’t get enough recognition.
Zion received an overall rating of 87, which tied him for 5th among power forwards with Domantas Sabonis, sandwiched between Anthony Davis (90), who came in 4th, and Pascal Siakam, whose rating was an 86 overall.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was also the highest rated player overall in the game, led power forwards with a 97, which makes sense given many believe he is the best player in the world.
I think you could argue that Zion’s rating was a tick high, only because he hasn’t played much in his young career, and also because Brandon Ingram came in at an 86 and many would have him rated higher, especially how that he thrived in the playoffs.
But this is just a video game, not real life, and few NBA players in history have more video-game like qualities than Zion Williamson, who has supplied some of the best dunks in the league over his career.
The New Orleans Pelicans are going to be a very popular team among gamers, as they have four guys in the starting lineup who are 80+, including Zion (87), BI (86), CJ McCollum (85) and Jonas Valanciunas (83) to go along with Herbert Jones who received a 78 overall.
Fans can quibble about these ratings, but it’s the real games that matter and if Zion stays healthy, he could be atop that list next season.
