The New Orleans Pelicans will play their second straight game in Crypto.com Arena (I’m sure that name will last), but this one against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Pelicans are coming off an impressive team win over the Clippers, while the Lakers’ last game was a win against the Nuggets, their first of the season.

The Victor Wembanyama watch has already started in New Orleans, so Pels’ fans are relishing every loss for LA, as New Orleans has the right to swap picks with them in the next draft.

So a win tonight would not only keep the Pels rolling through one of the toughest stretches of their schedule, but would help increase their chances that LA flops this season and coughs up another top draft pick to New Orleans.

Here is everything you need to know.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Los Angeles: Odds and Spread, Over/Under

Even though they are on the road, New Orleans is a three point favorite tonight against the LA Lakers. The money lines are set at -158 for New Orleans and +134 for Los Angeles and the over/under is 228 combined points.

I love New Orleans to win this one, and with such a low spread, you may as well take them to cover and get the better odds. LA has a good defense but no offense, so I expect this one to be low scoring. For the first time this season, I’d advise taking the under.

Pelicans injury report

The Pels will be missing Kira Lewis Jr., Herb Jones and Brandon Ingram for sure and rookie Dyson Daniels is listed as day-to-day, but probable for tonight’s game.

The Lakers will be without Dennis Schroder, Thomas Bryant and Cole Swider (who?). Anthony Davis is listed as questionable with a back injury and LeBron James and Juan Toscano-Anderson are listed as probable for tonight, so both teams will be shorthanded.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Los Angeles Lakers: Prediction

The Lakers are not playing well right now and the Pels are, so I love New Orleans in this one, even though it is always tough to bet against a team that has LeBron James.

I think New Orleans’ defense is going to stifle the Lakers’ offense, just as they did to the Clippers and that this will be another low-scoring win for the Pels.

New Orleans 114, Los Angels 100
