New Orleans Pelicans: Trade targets on the tanking teams

Charlotte Hornets (3-11)

  • Kelly Oubre Jr.
  • PJ Washington

The Hornets are currently tied for the worst record in the Eastern Conference, but are getting LaMelo Ball back, so could start turning things around.

But there is also a good chance that they see a roster that is going nowhere and that now might be a good time to tank to potentially add another young star to pair with Ball.

Kelly Oubre Jr. is having the best season of his career and is on an expiring contract, so if the Hornets continue to lose, he’ll be a name to watch. He would give the Pelicans some additional size and scoring punch off the bench.

Would the Hornets be interested in a reunion with Devonte’ Graham and a future 1st-round pick?

PJ Washington is another guy on an expiring deal that the Hornets could look to move. He can score a little and block shots, so would be a valuable addition to the Pels’ bench.

If the Hornets don’t turn things around soon, they may have a whole lot of good role players hit the market, as Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier and Mason Plumlee could all be moved.
