The New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs are two teams headed in opposite directions as they meet tonight in Texas.

The Pels have won two in a row and 7-of-10 overall and find themselves alone in the 3-seed, just two games behind the Phoenix Suns for the best record in the Western Conference.

The Spurs are going the other way, as they have lost nine in a row and have dropped to the second worst record in the NBA. They currently boast the worst defense in the NBA by far and look to be in full-blown tank mode for Victor Wembanyama.

But the Pels can’t take them for granted tonight on the road, especially with tough games against West playoff teams looming in the near future.

Here is all of the information you will need.

New Orleans Pelicans vs San Antonio Spurs: Odds and Spread, Over/Under

Fanduel has the Pels as seven point favorites tonight on the road in San Antonio, which seems fairly low considering New Orleans beat them by 19 in the same building just a week ago and the Spurs have gotten worse since.

The money lines are -295 for New Orleans and +240 for San Antonio and the over/under is a combined 233 points, highest it has been all season.

The Spurs have been allowing 124 points per game during this losing streak, so I love this over in this one.

Pelicans injury report

CJ McCollum and Naji Marshall have been upgraded to probable for tonight’s game, which is good news, but Herbert Jones has been ruled out with an ankle injury and Brandon Ingram is still out with a sprained toe.

Romeo Langford is probable for the Spurs, and both Doug McDermott and Josh Richardson are doubtful. Jeremy Sochan and Jakob Poeltl are both ruled out for the Spurs, so they will be shorthanded.

New Orleans Pelicans vs San Antonio Spurs: Prediction

The Pels are getting some guys back and are playing a terrible Spurs team that is decimated by injuries. Zion Williamson has averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds per game in his career against the Spurs, and they will be missing their best rim protector, so expect him to go off tonight.

As long as the Pels don’t take this game too lightly and actually show up, they should be able to roll in San Antonio.
