Pelicans game tonight: Pelicans vs Pistons odds, injury report, predictions, TV channel for Dec. 7
The New Orleans Pelicans will take on the Detroit Pistons tonight in the Smoothie King Center in a game they need to win.
The Pistons are one of the worst teams in the NBA, and the Pels are getting ready to hit a stretch of their schedule that has them playing the 1st-place Phoenix Suns three times in five games.
It would be easy to overlook the Pistons, who are on the second game of a back-to-back and are missing their best player.
But New Orleans can’t look past them to the two upcoming home games against the Suns, as Detroit still has some good players who can beat you on a given night, as they showed last night when they routed the Heat behind 31 points from Bojan Bogdanovic, a guy who I thought might be a good trade target for the Pels.
But they will be playing against him tonight, and need to bring the energy and focus even though this is a game in which they are heavy favorites.
Here is all of the information you need.
New Orleans Pelicans vs Detroit Pistons: Odds and Spread, Over/Under
The Pels are 10.5 point favorites tonight against Detroit and the money lines are set at -560 for New Orleans and +420 for Detroit.
The over/under is a combined 229 points and I like the over, as Detroit has one of the worst defenses in the league, the Pels are rolling and they are on the second game of a back-to-back.
Pelicans injury report
Brandon Ingram and Herb Jones are still out for the Pelicans, so as usual, they will be looking for a role player to step up in this one. Devonte’ Graham is also listed as questionable.
The Pistons will be missing Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Livers.
New Orleans Pelicans vs Detroit Pistons: Prediction
These two teams played in the preseason and New Orleans got a close win, but that was preseason and the Pistons had their full roster back then. They do have some players in Bogdanovic, rookies Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren and veteran shooter Alec Burks, but the Pels have mismatches all over the floor.
The Pistons are on the second game of a road back-to-back and have only won seven games overall even though they did win last night. This is a game in which the Pels should roll as long as they show up and play with energy and focus.
New Orleans 125, Detroit 105
