Tonight’s game against the Phoenix Suns is one the New Orleans Pelicans have had circled on their calendar since preseason and it’s only grown in importance since.

The two teams played a tight six-game playoff series last season that got a little chippy, and right now the Pelicans are just ahead of the Suns, sitting in first place in the Western Conference standings.

The Pels are eager to show that they are legit and they will get their chance, as the schedule has them playing the Suns three times in five games, with two games in Utah in between.

New Orleans is playing their best basketball of the season even though they’ve been without two starters, leaning on their depth and the MVP-level play of Zion Williamson in the current five-game winning streak.

They will be shorthanded again tonight, so will they be able to take care of business at home against the Suns?

Here is all of the information you need.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Phoenix Suns: Odds and Spread, Over/Under

Fanduel actually has the Pelicans as two point underdogs tonight at home against the Suns even though they are rolling and the Suns have lost two in a row.

The money lines are -130 for Phoenix and +110 for New Orleans and the over/under is a combined 228.5 points.

The two teams combined for 234 points in their last meeting and that was with New Orleans missing Zion and Brandon Ingram, so I like the over again tonight.

Pelicans injury report: Brandon Ingram injuries update

Unfortunately, both Brandon Ingram and Herb Jones have been ruled out for this one already, so we won’t see the Pels at full strength. Jose Alvarado is listed as questionable, which would be a big loss for the Pels.

The Suns will be missing Jae Crowder, Cameron Johnson and Duane Washington Jr.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Phoenix Suns: Prediction

Even though they are down two starters, I love the way the Pelicans are playing right now behind Zion Williamson. He has been dominant over his last five games and should be able to keep it going tonight against the Suns.

New Orleans is going to be fired up for this one and are eager to show the hated Suns how things have changed this season. The home crowd is going to be electric and will help propel the Pels to the win tonight.
