Pelicans game tonight: Pelicans vs Jazz odds, Brandon Ingram injury update, predictions, TV channel for Dec. 13
The New Orleans Pelicans head to Utah tonight for the first of two games against the Jazz with their seven-game win streak on the line.
The Pels are fresh off two hard-fought victories against the hated Suns, so there is a chance for a letdown performance tonight against the Jazz, who beat the Pels in overtime earlier in the season.
But things have changed since then. Zion Williamson is playing like an MVP and the Pels have been getting huge contributions from their bench, particularly Jose Alvarado, Naji Marshall, Dyson Daniels and Trey Murphy III.
The Jazz have come back to earth since their red-hot start, have lost two in a row and have only won three times in their last 10 games.
The Pels can’t be looking backwards at the two with the Suns, nor looking forward to their game with Phoenix that comes after the two with Utah.
Can New Orleans keep rolling? Here is everything you need to know.
New Orleans Pelicans vs Utah Jazz: Odds and Spread, Over/Under
This is a tough one to call, but Fanduel has the Pels as 1.5 point favorites on the road. The money lines are -120 for New Orleans and +102 for Utah, so the books think this one is close to a toss up.
The over/under of 233.5 is high, as the Pels have been scoring a ton of points lately and the books are trying to hedge against more of it. I’m going to keep hammering the over until the Pels give us a reason not to.
Pelicans injury report: Brandon Ingram injury update
The Pels got some good news, as Herbert Jones has been updated to probable for tonight’s game against Utah. Brandon Ingram has already been ruled out, and at this point it seems like New Orleans is in no hurry to rush him back, as there is no reason to risk his toe or the team’s MoJo.
The Jazz will be missing Collin Sexton and Simone Fontecchio.
New Orleans Pelicans vs Utah Jazz: Prediction
This one has all of the makings of a trap game for the Pels, who are coming off two tough games against their rival. But New Orleans is playing as well as any team in the NBA right now and has too many guys ready to step up if someone else has an off night.
I like the Pelicans to keep their streak alive in Utah.
New Orleans 120, Utah 114
