With several key injuries plaguing them, the New Orleans Pelicans have gone just 3-9 since the calendar flipped to 2023, and the big question is when relief will come.
Tuesday’s nail-biting loss against the Denver Nuggets was the team’s fifth straight defeat, which is the longest losing streak of the season. Unfortunately, there won’t be much time to recover from the 99-98 loss, as the Pelicans will be in action again on Wednesday to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Smoothie King Center.
While Zion Williamson is still expected to miss a couple more weeks, some good news finally came out on Wednesday morning.
Brandon Ingram’s injury status for tonight’s game against the Timberwolves
After not having played since November 25th against the Memphis Grizzlies, it appears that Brandon Ingram is finally ready to hit the hardwood again against Minnesota on Wednesday.
After injuring his left toe in late November, Ingram suffered a setback in his rehab last month, prolonging his absence from the team even more. As long as there aren’t any setbacks in the next few hours, though, it appears Ingram will be ready to go for the 8 p.m. ET matchup with the Wolves on Wednesday.
Brandon Ingram’s injury history
Before the toe injury, Ingram had played in 15 of the Pelicans’ first 19 games, missing four games in October after a concussion setback. Here are the most recent injuries the talented forward has suffered in his NBA career.
10/23/22 – concussion
1/23/22 – ankle
12/27/21 – Achilles
10/31/21 – hip
When is Brandon Ingram coming back?
Ingram is scheduled to be back tonight, but if there is a setback, we may see his return postponed until the Pelicans host the Washington Wizards on January 28th at 8 p.m. ET.
