The New Orleans Pelicans really need to make up ground in the Western Conference when they’re facing teams like the Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte is one of the worst teams in basketball and the way their offense is playing we might want to go against their key pieces in the prop market tonight. Plus, New Orleans has a new emerging wing that could be a key contributor down the stretch while they wait on the savior that will never come, Zion Williamson.

Let’s check out prop market for this Hornets and Pelicans matchup down in New Orleans.

Hornets vs. Pelicans Best NBA Prop Bets

  • Trey Murphy III over 15.5 points (-120)
  • Kelly Oubre Jr. under 27.5 points + rebounds (-113)
  • Brandon Ingram under 32.5 points + assists (-115)

Trey Murphy III over 15.5 points (-120)

The Pelicans haven’t had their true offensive star on the floor in a long time, but Trey Murphy is becoming a very nice offensive piece alongside Brandon Ingram on the wing. For the year he’s averaging 13.4 points a game, but in March that’s up to 17.7 and he’s shooting 45.4% from three at home compared to 34.1% on the road this season.

Kelly Oubre Jr. under 27.5 points + rebounds (-113)

Yes, somebody has to score points on a bad team, but I’m all about fading pieces on Charlotte right now. They have an offensive rating of 103.1 in March, by far the worst in the NBA and both New Orleans and Charlotte are top 10 in defensive rating this month.

Brandon Ingram under 32.5 points + assists (-115)

Ingram has been very good in March. He’s averaging 25.5 points a game and 6.1 assists, but for the year he’s at 23.5 and 5.1, so I don’t know how consistent he’ll stay at that level of scoring especially with Trey Murphy’s continued emergence. I also want to fade the Pelicans No. 1 option against the Hornets who are playing great defense right now.
