Garrett Temple

Since he arrived in New Orleans in 2021, Garrett Temple has been a strong veteran in the Pelicans’ locker room. His leadership has helped change the culture as well as create a winning environment in the post Anthony Davis era.

Garrett Temple is now one of the oldest active players in the NBA. By the time free agency rolls around next June, he will be the tenth-oldest player in the league at 37. This offseason, we may see Temple call it a career.

If this does happen, do not be surprised if he remains on the sidelines.

Around the league, Temple has been widely regarded as a potential coach or executive in the NBA. The Pelicans may try to retain him and add him to the current coaching staff. There, Temple will be able to continue his positive effect on the team while kicking off his coaching career.

For now, his retirement is just speculation. Regardless of his decision, Temple will still influence the Pelicans and the NBA in some capacity next year.
