Naji Marshall

It will be interesting to see what happens with Naji Marshall this summer.

Marshall, the undrafted free agent from Xavier, has been an underrated contributor to the Pelicans’ success. With the end of his contract approaching, New Orleans has a decision to make.

This offseason, New Orleans will have the option to pick up another year on Marshall’s current contract. The following year, he will be an unrestricted free agent.

While Marshall will be looking for a payday this summer, I expect the Pelicans to bring him back on his current deal (picking up his 1.9 million dollar team option, per Spotrac).

Ultimately, New Orleans will have to assess this situation and make a decision, but I find it hard to believe that, after the season he’s had, Naji Marshall won’t be back with the team next season.
