Pelicans: 4 Potential free agent targets with ties to C.J. McCollum

The veteran target: Will Barton

Will Barton played a season and a half with McCollum during their stints with the Portland Trail Blazers, and the two are familiar with each other’s game. If the Blazers would want to add some depth to the backcourt during the offseason via free agency, Barton could be a veteran option that could be on their radar.

Even though Barton didn’t have the most productive of seasons this past year, he is just one year removed from averaging 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game on 37 percent shooting from 3-point range for the Denver Nuggets.

And at just 32 years old, there’s a scenario in which Barton becomes a very reasonable veteran option for the Pelicans during the offseason.
