The shooting-specialist target: Seth Curry

Heading into free agency, if the New Orleans Pelicans are going to be looking for added shooting (which they probably should, considering they were league-average in 3-point shooting this past season), there is one potential target that would make a lot of sense: Seth Curry. Many seem to forget that Curry actually played alongside C.J. McCollum during the 2018-19 season with the Trail Blazers, and he’d be a familiar target for the Pelicans this offseason.

Curry is coming off a productive season with the Brooklyn Nets in which he averaged nine points per game on 41 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s slated to be an unrestricted free agent this summer and is likely going to garner significant interest on the open market, considering how good of a shooter he’s been.

If the Pelicans are looking for another veteran guard that can come in a play a defined role for the team, Curry would make a ton of sense. He has mastered his role over the last few seasons as somewhat of a shooting specialist and would be able to seamlessly play off-ball with the Pelicans.

The big question is whether or not the Pelicans would be able to afford him with how sough-after he’s likely going to be this offseason.
