Kira Lewis Jr.

As a lottery pick from the 2020 NBA Draft, the hope was that Kira Lewis Jr. would emerge as a young, promising guard for the Pelicans. Through the first three years of his career, that simply hasn’t happened just yet. Specifically, this past season, there’s an argument to be made that Lewis took a step back.

Lewis was reduced to a smaller role this season in which he appeared in only 25 games for the Pelicans, averaging only five points per game in only nine minutes per game. In fairness, Lewis was working his back this season from a knee injury. But Lewis ended the season out of the Pelicans’ rotation, and it’s difficult to predict where he’ll stand with the team heading into next season.

One thing that is clear, though, is the fact that Lewis’ trade value is pretty much non-existent heading into the offseason.
