In his eight-season-long NBA career, Josh Richardson has already played for six teams, and now he might be on the move in free agency once again. The New Orleans Pelicans acquired Richardson from the San Antonio Spurs at the 2023 trade deadline in exchange for Devonte’ Graham and four second-round picks to upgrade their wing rotation.

In 23 games with the team, he averaged 7.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 38.4 percent shooting from three, which showed a slight drop off from his scoring in San Antonio (11.5 points in 42 games). Nevertheless, Richardson is a solid 3-and-D wing who will attract much attention this summer. There are not many affordable quality wings on the market at a time when pretty much every team is looking for just that.

Thus, the Pelicans will likely try to keep Richardson around, but he will have several other options, and some of those teams could be able to offer him a bigger role (and more money). So, let’s look at five teams that could steal Josh Richardson from the Pelicans.
