5. Naji Marshall

Marshall continues to improve, but the 25-year-old is approaching his prime and in the final year of his contract. His $1.9 million salary will not do much for matching purposes, but rebuilding teams are always looking for expiring contracts. Marshall is one of four that New Orleans currently has on their books, and it increases his chances of getting added to any trade package.

The 6’7 wing is coming off the best year of his career where he averaged 9.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 23.3 minutes per game. Marshall is a below-average shooter, but he was part of the rotation last season. Every team is looking for size on the wing, and Marshall’s defense could be intriguing to contending teams on the trade market.

Will his shooting and overall offensive game take a step forward in year four? If so, he could transform into a key piece in New Orleans that the Pelicans keep. They would still have to iron out a contract for the 2024-25 season, but Marshall has earned a role and has room to further improve.

Naji Marshall could intrigue opposing teams, which only increases the likelihood he gets dealt. If the New Orleans Pelicans pull off a blockbuster, Marshall may be involved, but he is not the most likely player on the roster to be moved.
