8. December 11 – vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Due to the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament, each team currently has 80 scheduled contests. Each of the 22 teams that do not advance to the Quarterfinals of the In-Season Tournament will be assigned two regular-season games (one home game and one away game) that will be played on Wednesday, December 6th, and Friday, December 8th. The Pelicans will be planning on the fly the week before this game. Young teams tend to get distracted by too many moving parts.

7. December 19 – vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant’s first game back from suspension. TNT will be in the Smoothie King Center. First nationally televised game of the season in New Orleans. It’s an early season put up or shut up game. Will New Orleans show up and show out? Or will Morant get the headlines?
