6. January 3 – @ Minnesota Timberwolves

New Orleans got a Spurs-Bulls situation early in January but this is the first home-then-road back-to-back against playoff teams: Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram versus Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. Williamson got injured in the first game of the New Year the last time he was on the court. Can he make it further this season?

5. January 13 – @ Dallas Mavericks

This will be the fourth of a five-game road trip. The Kings, Golden State Warriors, and Nuggets are the opening three games. Then, to top it all off, they have to play back-to-back road games against the Dallas Mavericks. Talk about a midseason gauntlet. But look on the bright side. At least the Pelicans get to stay in the same hotel for two consecutive games in Dallas before coming home.
