On Tuesday, we touched on some photos that have been circulating around New Orleans Pelicans Twitter spaces (or whatever that damn app is called now) that show Zion Williamson looking absolutely jacked during a workout.
Seeing him in such great shape should be enough to get fans of the team jonesing for their fix of Pelicans basketball. However, if for some reason that didn’t satiate you, hearing these comments from Williamson about the Pelicans Big Three (comprised of himself, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum) surely will.

"“You got CJ McCollum. Then you got Brandon Ingram. Then you got myself. The first day of training camp was the first time all three of us stepped on the court together. As the scrimmage went on, it was just like ‘boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, man.'”"
For those of you who didn’t quite catch his drift, what Williamson was referring to with all the booms was just how dynamic he, Ingram, and McCollum looked when they shared the court.
Unfortunately, we, as fans, haven’t had the privilege of seeing the magic they make together all that often. So far, the trio has only shared the court together for a grand total of ten games. Meanwhile, Ingram and Williamson (the two clearcut best players of the trio) have only played 93 games together in the four seasons they have been teammates.
Most sports books project the Pelicans to be a mid-40 win team next season, which would put them in play-in territory in the loaded Western Conference. However, those books are hedging on the fact that the Pelicans Big Three has a history of not all being healthy at the same time.
This is a fair bet to make. But as Williamson implied in that video above, when those three are healthy and playing with each other, they are as lethal as any trio in the association. On top of that, Williamson is taking the steps necessary to make sure he can be on the court way more often this season. And if he is truly healthy, I wouldn’t bet against them.
