The NBA summer league tips off on July 10th at 2:30 p.m. CT for the New Orleans Pelicans as they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Pelicans fans knew No. 7 pick Jeremiah Fears, No. 13 pick Derik Queen, and No. 40 pick Micah Peavy would all be on the roster, but now that the full roster has been released, fans have a better idea of what to expect.

Corey Brewer will coach the Pelicans' summer league squad. The 39-year-old spent 13 years in the NBA and won back-to-back national championships at the University of Florida before entering the league. Brewer, upon retiring, transitioned to a player development coach with the Pelicans and now gets the chance to lead this young group.

Outside of Fears and Queen, keep an eye on these guys

In this group, the most interesting player is Antonio Reeves, as he was waived by the Pelicans last week but is still part of their Summer League roster. The Pelicans could benefit from Reeves' play throughout this group's time in Las Vegas, as he will be using the Summer League as a showcase to all 29 other teams. Reeves could take his play to a new level, proving why he deserves to be on an NBA roster, despite the Pelicans waiving him.

Another interesting storyline features Christian Shumate from McNeese State. McNeese is a local university in Louisiana, allowing him to showcase his talents in front of many of the same fans who supported him during his college career. Shumate is an athletic wing player who excels in defense and creates impressive highlights at the rim. This season, he played a key role in leading McNeese State to its first NCAA Tournament victory in program history, defeating Clemson 69-67.

Outside of these two, there are a few other names to keep an eye on. Will Baker is another player to keep an eye on. He is a former LSU Tiger who will be a familiar face to Louisiana basketball fans. Micah Peavy will be someone to keep an eye on as he'll likely be tasked with guarding the opposing team's best player nightly. Lastly, Trey Alexander is a fun wing with incredible length, standing at 6'3" and boasting a 6'10" wingspan. He is both a shot creator and a defensive disruptor.

Overall, the Pelicans have assembled a fun Summer League squad that is poised to make noise when their season begins on July 10th at 2:30 p.m. CT.
