After a jam-packed summer schedule, the NBA season is now right around the corner. Fans were able to appease their appetite with the draft, free agency, and summer league. This year, hoop heads had the added pleasure of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics to help crub any mid-offseason cravings, as well.

This summer's events essentially led right up to the NBA's schedule release, a final teaser for fans before the league gets into the true dog days of the offseason. There were plenty of highlighted premier matchups, including holiday games and the new NBA Cup.

The league's schedule is a grueling one, with 82 games spanning seven calendar months. It's difficult for both players and fans to stay 100 percent engaged throughout the campaign. Thankfully, there are certain heightened clashes sprinkled within the year to keep things interesting. For the New Orleans Pelicans, there are plenty of games that fans should be highly anticipating.

October 29, 2024 @ Golden State Warriors

This past summer, Stephen Curry reminded the world at the Paris Olympics that he's still one of the greatest players on the planet. His 3-point barrages against Serbia in the semifinals and against France in the Gold Medal game were sure to evoke traumatic flashbacks for fans of every team that ran into the Golden State Warriors dynasty during their peak. Some of his greatest victims were the Portland Trail Blazers, the Houston Rocket, and, of course, the Pelicans.

The NBA world might be preparing their eulogies for the Dubs, especially after Klay Thompson's departure, but many pundits had already done so ahead of their 2022 title. It wouldn't be surprising at all to see Golden State bounce back next season behind another unbelievable Curry campaign.

Regardless of whether the Warriors can reclaim their status as true title contenders, Curry, at 36 years old, only has so many one-man blitzkriegs left in him. This could be one of the Pelicans' last opportunities to get a satisfying lick off of Curry and the Warriors. There's a reason this one is going to be nationally televised.
