With a loss to the New York Knicks on Monday the New Orleans Pelicans officially hit the halfway point of the season at a disappointing 20-21. The Pelicans have battled injuries, inconsistency and flat-out bad play to get to that mark though there have also been some high highs.

New Orleans holds multiple wins over the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets a win over the Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns and a top 10 rating in offensive efficiency.  Anthony Davis has emerged as a legitimate MVP candidate and as one of the three or four best players on the planet this year. Tyreke Evans has multiple game winners and games where he has looked absolutely unstoppable.

On the other hand the Pelicans have losses to the Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers. Ryan Anderson has struggled to shoot the ball well this season, especially on the road. Jrue Holiday has missed more games with an injury to his right leg. Tyreke Evans has made mind numbing decisions at times and been invisible in his fair share of games. Finally the Pelicans have one of the worst defenses in basketball, ranking 25th in defensive efficiency above only the Timberwolves, Lakers, Knicks, Cavs and Jazz.

The staff got together for a round table at the quarter season mark so it seemed only right to do it again at the midway point.
