Darius Miller – Unrestricted

Should he be brought back?: No

Darius Miller’s future with the team is a bit more debatable than Ian Clark’s, but only marginally. He’s older at 29 years old, but his value to the team is overall higher. Miller played a healthy 26 minutes per game this season for the Pelicans, so his absence would be felt if the team parted ways with him.

Still, his 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists per game would not be too difficult for New Orleans to replace on the wing. He’s been a very good three point shooter in the past, but his 37% last season isn’t exactly scorching. It’s good but not irreplaceable.

Look for the Pels to give Miller’s minutes to a younger prospect once next season starts. If a wing like Jayson Tatum enters the fray, there’s not really room in the rotation to justifiably give Miller significant run anymore.

Darius Miller is a rotational piece that makes more sense on a team that’s already established and simply is looking for some more veteran bench depth to round out their roster. This is not a description that fits the New Orleans Pelicans.
