Jabari Parker: SF/PF, Washington Wizards

The former #2 pick, Jabari Parker, has had a rough career to say the least. Only playing a total of 247 games across his 5 year career from a mix of harsh injuries and poor performances has resulted in him losing a lot of stock in the league. Signing a 2 year, $40 million contract with the Chicago Bulls was kind of a reach, but with a team option for the second year, the Bulls covered themselves.

A poor start and inconsistent performances resulted in his trade to the Wizards, who will either opt out of his contract, keep him and hope to develop him, or trade him. For this exercise, let’s imagine the Wizards use him as a trade chip for any sort of compensation they can get in return.

In 64 games this past season, Parker averaged 14.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game, which are solid numbers. While the $20 million price tag is high, a team who can invest in his future, healing, and show enough faith in his development might get him back on track to live up to his pre-NBA hype.
