#5) Danny Green

The Pelicans need shooting and they definitely could utilize a guy that has been there, done that in their locker room. Green fits that billing quite nicely.

Green is actually fresh off a career year shooting the ball from the perimeter. He shot 45.5 percent from distance on 2.5 makes per contest and had a TS% of 63.2 percent (good for 3rd in the NBA amongst guards)—not bad.

Plus, imagine Zion and Lonzo running out in transition with Danny Green running to either corner to set up shop, it just makes sense, doesn’t it? Jake Madison, the host of lockedonpels, is up to something here.

He’s still widely recognized as one of the better defenders in the league at his position; he can hang with the more deceptive guards in the league, he’s physical and strong enough to body up wings, and doesn’t give up easy transition baskets.

He’s currently 9th amongst active players in defensive rating (102.7) and had a net rating of +11 in the 27 minutes of action he saw a night this past season for the Raptors. He’s 32-years-old, but can still be a very productive member of any roster. His last contract was 4 years at 40 million; if it’s still in that same annual ballpark, this would be a very nice acquisition for the Pels.
