New Orleans Pelicans: Best Games to Watch this Season
Los Angeles Lakers @ New Orleans Pelicans: The Return of Anthony Davis
This one doesn’t need much of an introduction. Anthony Davis was traded after a long played out soap opera throughout the 18-19’ season and ended up getting exactly what he wanted – The Los Angeles Lakers. Davis was traded for current Pelicans Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart along with three additional future first-round draft picks. Davis spent his entire career in New Orleans and did get the Pelicans to the playoffs which was a personal goal of his. However, he leaves the Big Easy feeling incomplete and will instead embark on a new journey with LeBron James in Tinsel Town. Expect tons of boos for the Forward during pre-game introductions and even more boos when he touches the ball throughout the game. Davis averaged 23.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists during his career in New Orleans. This is going to be must-see television and don’t think that the young Pelicans who were traded away from the Lakers won’t be biting at the bit for revenge on their former team as well. Ball, Ingram and Hart spent their entire careers in Los Angeles. This will also be Zion Williamson’s first matchup against LeBron James. Zion is the most hyped player coming into the league since LeBron and recently signed a multi-year show deal with Jordan Brand. It will be interesting to see how these to go at one another and if they will potentially match up one-on-one during the contest. Both men are considered freaks of nature with amazing athletic stature so this one could be a battle of the beasts. The Pelicans will also play the Lakers January 3rd at Staples Center, February 25th at Staples Center and March 1st at the Smoothie King Center.
